Contrary to some opinions, Catherine de Medici is not the Mother of French Cuisine and contrary to what the NY Times reported in 1998, when Alain Ducasse won a Michelin 3 star rating for both his restaurants he was NOT THE FIRST. Eugénie Brazier had been the first, nearly 65 years prior. Why would a male dominated industry have failed to mention her monumental contribution to French cuisine?
