Samay Chakra #051 (2nd hr - From Vault | Life Enjoyers Club Guestmix) [Kalinga Son] | DI.FM

Born in Odisha, India, and raised in Goa, Kalinga Son is the psychedelic trance project of Saumya Mohanty. His music bridges the cultural roots of eastern India with the spirit of Goa’s underground electronic music scene. From the sunrise shores of Odisha to the sunset coast of Goa, his story follows the sun through music. With over 16 years of experience in electronic music, he has built an artistic identity shaped by psychedelic culture, dancefloor energy, and a deep passion for musical exploration.

His sound brings together powerful basslines, driving grooves, psychedelic sound frequencies, emotional chants, mantras, and mesmerising melodies. Each of his DJ sets unfolds a unique story through the energy of the moment, blending electronic and organic sounds into a rhythmic journey where the music and dancefloor move as one. Seeing people dance with love and leave with a smile is one of the most rewarding parts of his journey.

Over the years, he has performed at renowned venues and festivals including Shiva Valley, Hilltop, ChilloutPlanet, Sunburn, and Magica, taking his sound beyond India with performances in Russia, including Moscow and St. Petersburg. He has also made multiple guest DJ appearances on RadiOzora, associated with Ozora Festival.

With a consistently packed annual touring calendar, Kalinga Son headlines events across multiple cities in India and international destinations, performing at an extensive range of clubs, festivals, and underground gatherings. His journey spans Goa’s legendary dancefloors, India’s vibrant psychedelic trance music circuit, and international stages, establishing him as an active presence within the global psytrance community.

Beyond the dancefloor, Kalinga Son is the creator and host of Samay Chakra – India’s Psychedelic Radio Movement, a monthly psytrance radio show broadcast on DI.FM, one of the world’s leading online radio networks dedicated to electronic music. The show has featured artists such as Astrix, Ace Ventura, Vini Vici, Outsiders, Space Tribe, Mad Maxx, Laughing Buddha, Burn in Noise, and Liquid Soul. Through Samay Chakra, he continues to share music and support artists from across the global psytrance community.

Rooted in Odisha, shaped by Goa, and connected to the world through music, Kalinga Son’s journey is ultimately about the love, freedom, and sense of oneness found on the dancefloor.
