
I grew up always being stick thin and never had to worry about my weight. I was TERRIFIED of the freshman 15 and it got in my head a ton throughout college. Not even really my freshman year but the subsequent years. I got to a place of eating very little and going to the gym daily. I committed myself to going through a bulk for 8 whole months and knew that I needed to put on weight if I wanted to gain any muscle. So I did. And then suddenly none of my clothes fit any more. I don't weigh even close to the same as I did going to college. But I also am more confident and love my body more now than I ever did before.

It's been interesting going from being in the classroom all day to just being...by myself...all the time. I don't think you guys realize how many people us teachers talk to all day and how we are on the go and have to be mentally alert all day every day. I used to get home and be absolutely drained but not now. I just sit by myself and do my work and when Cody gets home I turn it off..sometimes. There's a lot of disadvantages and things I'm working through right now as I work from home because it's a huge adjustment. But it's all good things! Listen to hear all my thoughts!

I realized I have never actually shared my whole journey. I’ve just kind of given out random tips and shared parts of my story and day to day but I never really gave you the run down as to who I am and where I came from and the story of why I called my company Embrace the Sweat. That's what this episode is all about...the shortened version. I have a lot of thoughts and opinions behind the fitness industry and this is one of them. There is so much that is polarized : you have to do yoga, you have to run, you have to lift, and then people criticize or look down on others who choose to move in different ways it's exhausting and sad.

I was planning on talking about wedding planning and this took a whole different route!! I just recapped my whole last 8 years for you with some inspiration leaked in there...I hope at least, I'm no motivational speaker. Throughout the episode I shared about all the letdowns I have had and how in the moment it was so incredibly hard. Nobody understood it and I felt so alone. And I was frustrated with myself and God. But every time I was let down, a new door would open somewhere else. It's as if God has been leading towards this thing over and over again. Every time I tried to take the reigns on my life, I was knocked on my ass and put in a new direction. The same direction over and over. So, here I am. A teacher...who may not be a teacher much longer.
