Dickson Lam is the author of Paper Sons: A Memoir, winner of the 2017 Autumn House Press Nonfiction Prize. The memoir is set in San Francisco and explores his transformation from a teenage graffiti writer to a high school teacher working with troubled youth while navigating the secret violence in his immigrant family’s past.
