Desmond Doss didn’t just refuse to carry a weapon; he refused to let the darkness of war extinguish the light of his convictions. Without firing a single shot, he demonstrated that the "firepower" of God's love is more potent than any artillery.
Doss chose to save life rather than take it, proving that a firm stand for the Prince of Peace earns a glory that outshines any earthly medal. Today, we are called to be modern conscientious objectors. In a world often defined by conflict and compromise, we must conscientiously object to everything evil, choosing instead to embody the life of Jesus within us. By embracing what He loves and shunning the things of death, we build each other up in light and love.
Like Doss, if we stand firm in our faith and choose life at every turn, we move toward that ultimate moment where we will see Him face to face and receive the eternal reward of our faith.
