The team debates—Rich from Colorado says all-terrains grip better on Moab’s slickrock, while others note beadlocks shine in deep snow for traction. Lift or lockers first? Some went lockers first with a Rubicon, others prioritized a lift for clearance, with F.U. Bob sharing his low-center-of-gravity TJ build (2.5” lift, 35s, tummy tuck, SYE). Soft top or hard top? Soft tops win for flexibility, but some run Sunrider hard tops for the best of both worlds—Greg even plans a custom hardtop safari conversion! Steel bumpers or tube bumpers? Fabricated steel bumpers are the go-to for durability; tube bumpers feel dated to the crew. Manual or automatic? Manuals are loved for control (Greg’s a fan!), but automatics win for ease on the trail—Eric’s over manuals after wheeling the YJL. Rock lights or underglow? Greg’s not a fan of rock lights, calling them unnecessary if you’ve got quality headlights (like Tyree Lights!), but Eric sees value in knuckle-mounted steerable lights for trails. We’re also gearing up for Easter Jeep Safari 2025 (April 12-20) in Moab! A big Jeep Talk Show crew is heading out—Tony, Steve-O, F.U. Bob, Rick, and more, with Tyree Lights’ Eric, Ken, and Cole joining the fun. Steve-O’s bringing Meek Magnet Jeep Talk Show logos (18x18, nano-suction, removable), t-shirts, stickers, and flags to hand out—grab yours to rep the show! Greg’s towing the iconic YJL with his Humvee, despite its oil drip drama (third engine rebuild!). Look for Tyree Jeeps with Easter eggs of unreleased products, including new Baseline lights (2800 lumens, $99, made in the USA—check tyreeoffroad.com).
