My first column in English, as a token of appreciation for my non-Dutch speaking friends who have been nice enough to encourage me when I published my Dutch columns. The column is all about how modesty can be a dangerous, concealed form arrogance, as it is analogue to feeling too big to accept the small compliments or encouragements you are given.
