Born in New York - raised in Dominican Republic, Yami Payano was raised in a bilingual household with a strong Dominican culture. She is a 2018 graduate of American University were she majored in economics and mathematics with a minor in Chinese. As a Boren Scholar, She lived in Beijing, China for 1 year.
