While the Two Witnesses conduct a ministry in Jerusalem prior to the coming of Jesus Christ for a period of 1,260 days, the Beast or Antichrist overcomes them  and kills them in the end.  He overcomes them because he is empowered by Satan, who gives him supernatural power.  Their dead bodies remain unburied for a period of two-and-a-half days.  This episode helps a person understand these events better.
