On May 1, 2014, Jessica Tyrrell contacted the Springfield, Missouri police, to do a welfare check at the home of her parents. Inside the home, the police found the bodies of 60-year-old Gary, and 61-year-old Jan. It was clear to the police that robbery was the motive. Were Gary and Jan targeted because of the items that they collected, or was it something more sinister? Sources: Someone You Thought You Knew: Season 1 episode 1, 'Killer Collection' A Time to Kill: Season 4 episode 11, 'Dark Side of the Coin' https://thecinemaholic.com/gary-and-jan-tyrrell-murder-where-is-mark-porter-now/https://www.news-leader.com/story/news/crime/2015/08/26/porter-pleads-guilty-murder-springfield-couple/32425165/https://www.news-leader.com/story/news/crime/2014/10/22/springfield-man-accused-double-slaying-waives-right-hearing/17714895/https://www.kmbc.com/article/ex-school-superintendent-charged-in-couple-s-death/3684000Subscribe to my blog: https://kileystruecrime.squarespace.com Instagram: @itscrimeoclocksomewhereblogpod Twitter: @itscrimeoclockBuy Me a Coffee: buymeacoffee.com/itscrimeoclocksomewhereblogpodPatreon: www.patreon.com/itscrimeoclocksomewhereblogpod Rate and Review!! HUGE thank you to @josephmcdademusic for the theme song! I will be back next week with an all new case and book recommendation.
