History of the Census: Part 2 is here! In Part 1, we covered the very first Census conducted on horseback, all the way to the SECOND wave of Civil Rights Movements in the 1960’s which brought the largest amount of growth to the country since Emancipation a hundred years earlier.
Part 2 starts up with the 2000 Census, breaking down what’s happened in recent years, the 2010 Census (with the largest budget in history), and INTO the 2020 Census. Congressional Hearings surrounding this year’s Census began in 2019 with the incoming freshman Congress men and women and we’ve got clips from those as well! It’s gonna get real in this episode, but don’t forget we’re giving you the history because THIS MATTERS IN NOVEMBER WHEN WE VOTE ON HALF OF CONGRESS! The House of Reps are appropriated to States based on their population which is calculated through a Census count of the country every ten years. MAKE SURE YOU’RE COUNTED!
