Mombossa, Kenya is where invisibleman733 Presents finds our traveler. It is a southeast coastal city of the Indian Ocean. It is second largest city in the country to the capitol in population with 3,528,940 people plus our traveler. On the ocean, it was a place of trading and changed hands with many countries ruling it and is said to have been around since 900 A.D. and in 1151 it was mentioned by Al-Idrisi an Arab geographer. One of its most famous features of architecture is the oldest stone mosque in Mombasa, Mnara built in 1570 with a a minaret that has a regionally specific ogee arch. 

Before colonialism overpowered the area, it was a plantation society that became dependent on slave labor based on the ivory found there and exported coconuts, millet sesamum. It is home to the Maasai who are famous for their fearsome reputations as warriors and cattle-rustlers.  Like "Cowboys" in America?
