He is also the Academic Head of the Educational Psychology and Inclusive Education Community. His research covers diverse topics, including how education for students with disability is funded by the Commonwealth. He is the chief co-editor of the Australasian Journal of Special Education and the Oxford Encyclopedia of Inclusive and Special Education. Umesh was recently named as Australia's Research Field Leader in Special Education.
