Always enjoy listening to Magid/Omar/Saskias’ conversation about goalkeepers and goalkeeping. From goalkeeper perspective and goalkeeper coach perspective, you’ll learn so much from them, and also they always have their guest speaker which makes even more entertaining. I recommend to anyone who’s not only playing as a goalkeeper but also soccer fans and those who want to be goalkeeper.

All goalkeepers can relate to this podcast. I only recently stumbled across this and wish it could have accompanied me on more of my runs. I found myself nodding my head and relating to a lot of the examples the hosts give. Strongly recommend it for youth goal keepers and field players can definitely learn a thing or two and be entertained at the same time. Keep the episodes coming!!

I absolutely love this podcast. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who has a remote interest in Goalkeeping. I love being able to hear my former coaches who were such big mentors who I no longer train with such as Nathan Thackeray and Paul Blodgett whom I have incredible love and respect for continue to give me advice and insight into my game. Also, it has opened me up to even more coaches and mentors who I would never have had the chance to learn from other wise. It has also been a saving grace to me over the past year. I was out from October last year until mid-February this year when I finally had to have knee surgery. It was a rough time as my collegiate team was mid-season and having to go to practices and games but being unable to contribute and be involved with the game to the extent, I would like was very tough on me mentally. Listening to the podcast significantly lessened the load. I was able to still be working on improving my game by taking advice whether it was on small technical side that I could imagine myself implementing or more cerebral concepts and debates that I could look back on how I played and see where I could implement them. This podcast kept me mentally sharp and, in some ways, technically as well. I highly contribute this to allowing me to immediately after being cleared start playing again and trying out for teams for the summer. I came out playing probably close to the best I have ever played and made a UPSL team because of it. Additionally, this podcast has shown me how much I want to be able to coach and more specifically Goalkeeper coach and convinced me to go and start my US soccer certification. As you can tell I hold this podcast in the highest of lights and even in the dark periods of my past and the bleakness of all the world wide current events, It is a bright shining light that brings me a bit of joy with every podcast. Found out about it a few months back and have listened to pretty much everything since. It’s hard finding a podcast that can be informative at a high level while also being entertaining, and you guys do that. Some of the guests are amazing and provide great insight. I love how the podcasts are something I have listened to while in National Team camp, but also something I recommend to some of the younger GKs that I know. The team does a great job providing a product that hits all the spots required for great soccer goalkeeper information. Informative, funny, great guests, timely info…they have it all. Their “customer” engagement is spot on…they work to provide great info that engages their consumers while informing…a delicate balance they manage to maintain in a complex POD category flooded with sports content. I am a college goalkeeper for UNC Chapel Hill and there is a lot of great insights on the show that anyone can learn from. Definitely the best podcast out there! Hello all! First and foremost please please keep up the hard work you guys are doing. The homework and notes that are given from this podcast will lead the youth and coaches to places that goalkeeping has never gone. In the most recent episode with the British sports psychologist was incredible and gave us insight from where I had never seen. I feel Omar when he ask about feeling like preparation through eating, sleep, and the physical prep. My question to Omar and all the goalkeepers is that as a back up, do you think the preparation of before a game can be very hard to gather? Because he is a back up. If he does go in, does the pressure double or what are the way to relax and feel like he earned that time. Thank you guys for everything! Always listening. I’ve seen/heard other attempts at Goalkeeper Podcasts, but Inside the 18 gives you thoughts and processes from ex-players who achieved high levels of competition, all taking different routes to get there. Combined with the fantastic contributors, this is a legit podcast. The one thing I’ve learned in my years as a player and a coach is there is NO ONE WAY to learn or play this position. And the more I hear through these interviews is what I’ve concluded, that this position is crazy, and you need to be a little of the same to be great. This position is more MENTAL now than ever! Having insights from ex-pros and fantastic contributors is a tool. This podcast is a tool! Use it!

You guys should definitely do a session in Baltimore in January! I’m at a Juco D1 school in the area, would be awesome to train with you guys and meet you all. Been trying to fly out to California for a while now to meet up with Omar so this would be fantastic opportunity!

I am a coach who played professionally for 6 years took every step possible as a youth player all the way up from rec to club to DA to youth national team , college then pro. I have always coached every where I played around the world. I have always loved coaching and I’d say better at coaching then playing. I’m now fully focused on full time coaching GKS. This is my 3rd year full time focused on coaching gks. I have my own GK Acdemy in Dallas, Tx and Director of Goalkeeping for Solar Development Acdemy who just won the National championship for boys and girls U17 age groups. I’m also an Assiant coach at a university here in dallas. Im about to make jump into professional game as a pro gk coach come next season. Will be my first pro season as a coach. I wanted to say what an awesome podcast this is. I love listening to all the ideas and also lining up what I do with my gks. Love comparing what other gk coaches and gks are doing around country. I love being a sponge and just so hungry for ideas and information. One huge thing I love and hear all time is the good coach’s quote on quote are the ones that don’t hide there secrets. That want to answer questions and share there trainings and ideas. And I think that’s what is so cool about this podcast your able to spread so much knowledge and ideas to everyone not just coaches but gks and parents and just fans who inspire to be a gk. A great topic .........would be do you get better as you get older and coaching. Yes I’m not as athletic as I was but I feel like I got ten times smarter and better as a gk when I started coaching. I jump in still once a week with my university boys on shooting day. If they see this they will know how honest I am. Out of 4 keepers I train 3-4 days a week then my self as 5th gk who dosnt train ever. I beat them almost every week. I have only lost 2-3 times in a time span of two full fall seasons. How is that possible when I train them 3-4 days a week and I train never. I can tell it’s cause I’m that good as a gk. I must be a really bad coach then to them lol Hahahha. Do you get better as you get older and coach.

As a young goalkeeper myself, listening to this podcast has become a part of my game preparation and has helped develop me into a much better goalkeeper. I have recently made my high school varsity team as the starting goalkeeper and as a freshman! As a freshman on a team with seniors, I wasn’t sure that I belonged or that I deserved to be in that position, but your podcast has helped me boost my confidence and my knowledge of the position as well as feel like a leader on the field. You have inspired me to try and become the best goalkeeper I can possibly be. Your podcast has benefited me in ways I can’t even begin to explain. I am so grateful that there is someone like you out here to help young goalkeepers like myself develop and learn about the position of goalkeeping! My only question is, as a young goalkeeper in a city without a MLS team near by, how can I follow my dream to become a professional goalkeeper? Just wanted to say thanks for all the work y’all do. This is seriously one of the best goalkeeper podcasts out there, and one that actually holds my attention. You guys are so knowledgeable inside and out of all aspects of goalkeeping. I do have a question though. I play in an area where the closest DA is 2 hours away, and honestly I probably am not good enough to play for them. I play on the B team of a local club, that is on the rise for my age group. I played 2 years up last year for a different club team. I feel like I am going to have trouble reaching out to coaches because I am on a B team in a club that isn’t that big. Is there anything I can do to make myself look better? I play high school in the fall, and am hoping to make Varsity next year as a sophomore. Also, my state has a lot of NAIA schools, if that matters any. Thanks, and I hope for the podcast to continue for many more episodes!
