In the early ‘60s, Bloch was among a brilliant crop of ambitious, young film buffs coming up through the ranks of the motion picture industry. He was assistant advertising manager of Paramount Pictures, advertising manager of United Artists and creative director of the MGM film account at one of the leading advertising agencies in New York. With less than five years under his belt, Bloch was already considered one of the film industry’s most influential advertising minds. He fostered the advertising campaigns for such iconic films as Lawrence Of Arabia, Doctor Zhivago, Blow-Up, The Dirty Dozen and 2001: A Space Odyssey. In the late ‘60s, he formed his own advertising agency, Rosebud Advertising Corporation, where he produced print, broadcast and film advertising for some of the most popular and acclaimed motion pictures of the ‘70s and ‘80s, including, Barbarella, Saturday Night Fever, Paper Moon, Cabaret, Star Trek: The Movie, An Unmarried Woman, Play It Again Sam, Chinatown, Friday The 13th, Beverly Hills Cop, The Conversation, Elephant Man, Bernardo Bertolucci’s 1900, Heaven Can Wait, Marathon Man, Term Of Endearment, Murder On The Orient Express and Raging Bull.
