Is Acting Creative?
Actor Brandon Green and actress Kate Williams debate whether acting is creative or interpretive. Brandon’s hot take? Acting is perhaps the least creative part of making theatre. If you want to get your acting theory, creative nerd, art philosopher's jam on, then this is the discussion for you. Keep "In the Telling" commercial-free, and get exclusive access to full interviews on PatreonYou can help more people find “In the Telling” by leaving a review on Apple podcastsFind out more about “In the Telling” at lizzylizzyliz.comTheme music by Gordon VetasThanks for listeningSupport the show

Author Becca Rose
I sit down with author Becca Rose to ask her about cover art, being a female writer of color in the fantasy genre, different pen names, how writing isn’t stressful, and completing a manuscript in a four-day weekend.Rebecca Roberts ( Becca Rose) was raised in South Pasadena, California. She spent most of her time lost in fictional worlds. Starting with the classics and Shakespeare, she discovered fantasy and paranormal fiction in Middle School and never looked back. After graduating from Utah Valley University with a degree in English, Rebecca turned all her focus to creating worlds like the ones she grew up with. She lives in Utah County with her two dogs and two cats, who provide emotional support and distractions for when her stories take a turn for the worse.Check out her book “Elfish: The Windy Adventures,” available on Amazon. It is no secret that Windy is lonely. The only child of a single mom, Windy spends most of her time alone. But when her father shows up to change her life, Windy will do anything to return to her boring life and loving mom.Thrust into a world of magic, elves, and dangerous creatures, Windy knows she doesn’t belong. Accompanied by her protective shadow and deceptively innocent little sister, Windy sets out across unknown realms in a quest to win her freedom and return home.Keep "In the Telling" commercial-free, and get exclusive access to full interviews on PatreonYou can help more people find “In the Telling” by leaving a review on Apple podcastsFind out more about “In the Telling” at lizzylizzyliz.comTheme music by Gordon VetasThanks for listeningSupport the show

Betsy Couture
Episode 69 Betsy Couture is special, more on that in a minute. A quick announcement before we dive in. In the Telling is going on break for the whole summer. I’m starting a Master’s Degree in English on June 1st, which I’m pretty excited for and nervous about. In the Telling will be back in September after I’ve gotten a solid grasp of my program. However, I didn’t want to leave you for such a long break without a lovely parting gift. This incredible interview with couture wedding dress designer Betsy Barker is available in video form on my YouTube channel. Full video interviews are something I typically reserve solely for Patreon patrons, but since we have to part for three months, and since Betsy’s work is sumptuous to behold, I’ve put her zoom interview and tour of her studio and sewing rooms on YouTube for everyone! Be sure to check out Utah’s very own award-winning Betsy Couture!Betsy Couture tour and interview on YouTube https://youtu.be/fO5DALo4SXMKeep "In the Telling" commercial-free, and get exclusive access to full interviews on PatreonYou can help more people find “In the Telling” by leaving a review on Apple podcastsFind out more about “In the Telling” at lizzylizzyliz.comSubscribe to the Liz Christensen channel on YouTube for bonus content. The Cosplaying Bookstagrammer
Elizabeth Suggs uses cosplay to Bookstagram and shows how reading doesn’t have to be so serious. You’ll probably hear in my voice how much I’m a fan of Elizabeth Suggs creativity and energy. She’s involved in a lot of pursuits, I can relate, and she’s an effervescent delight as she talks about her passion for inhabiting a character and encouraging people to read indie authors. We talk about impatience in learning some new type of creative task, and about feeling like we have to multi-task in order to be productive. We talk about video games, audiobooks, indie authors, book reviews, social media usage, and sitting with nothingness. She’s nerdy, she thinks we take reading too seriously, and just like she says, it’s a very good thing that she’s on the side of the good guys. Here are the links for what we talk about in the interview: Collective Humanity: https://www.ctpfiction.com/collective-humanityCollective Visions: https://www.ctpfiction.com/collective-visionsCollective Chaos: https://www.ctpfiction.com/collective-chaosHere is the book where Elizabeth cosplayed the cover: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/55581125-dhi-s-parables-of-divine-transformation?ac=1&from_search=true&qid=Ka1ZcDr3El&rank=2Here is her rendition of it: https://www.instagram.com/p/CND9XTKAgWb/Keep "In the Telling" commercial-free, and get exclusive access to full interviews on PatreonYou can help more people find “In the Telling” by leaving a review on Apple podcastsFind out more about “In the Telling” at lizzylizzyliz.comSubscribe to the Liz Christensen channel on YouTube for bonus content.
