The first thing you notice about Chef Bernhard Mairinger is his height, for at 6’8” tall, he is arguably the tallest toque you’ll ever encounter. His towering size matches his culinary creativity, which has made him a standout chef since his career began in his native country of Austria nearly 20 years ago. In the years leading up to Mairinger’s Winter 2023 opening of Lustig, his newest eatery located in Culver City, California, the chef has racked up experience and accolades that make him one of Southern California’s most exciting culinary talents. She has co-produced short films for the nonprofit housing developers Community Corporation of Santa Monica and Venice Community Housing. She is currently researching “Awesome and Affordable” housing as a Fellow of Friends of Residential Treasures: Los Angeles (FORT: LA). Río Díaz is a Curator and Painter with a deep passion for social representation in Public Art. Her murals adorn schools in Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. She has curated exhibitions at The Jeffrey Deitch Gallery, UCLA’s Powell Library, the Los Angeles Mexican Consulate, The Venice Family Clinic, and The Social and Public Art Center (SPARC). Under the direction of Judy Baca, she is leading a team of artists to create the 1/2-mile expansion of Baca's iconic the Great Wall of Los Angeles mural. She was appointed the West Coast Editor of Interview magazine by Andy Warhol, and was Society Editor of Hearst’s Los Angeles Herald Examiner. Joan, with late husband, attorney John J. Quinn, and twin daughters Jennifer & Amanda, has been a supporter of the arts for over 60 years; particularly Southern California Contemporary Art. She’s the creator, writer, producer, and host of The Joan Quinn Profiles. Quinn is a visionary who has inspired artists from all over the world to create her portrait. Among the noted artists who have photographed, painted, or sculpted her image are David Hockney, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Ed Ruscha, Ed Moses. She has over 300 portraits in her collection. Alex Winter is a director, writer and actor who has worked across film, television and theater. Winter entered show business as a child actor with co-starring roles on Broadway in The King & I and Peter Pan, and came to prominence in movies such as Warner Bros’ hit The Lost Boys and the wildly popular Bill & Ted franchise. As a filmmaker, Winter’s narrative features include the cult classic Freaked, for 20th Century Fox and the critically acclaimed Fever, for Lionsgate, which screened in the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes. Winter is the founder of Trouper Productions, which services much of his directing work.
