In this episode, Thurayya delves into the complex process of moving on from a relationship that isn't working, despite putting in significant effort. The episode begins by acknowledging the emotional toll of investing time and energy into a relationship, only to realize that it's not sustainable.

Thurayya explores the importance of self-reflection and acceptance in the process of moving on. Recognizing when a relationship isn't serving your needs is an act of self-compassion rather than failure.

This episode looks at:

  1. Honoring Your Feelings: It's essential to allow yourself to feel the full spectrum of emotions that come with letting go of something that once mattered to you. So let the sadness, anger or even the unexpected relief flow without judgement.
  2. Trying: Did you try to communicate your needs? Did you try to understand them? Did you try to be patient in hopes they would do the work necessary on their end to make it work? If you've done your best to no avail, it might be time to let be and let God, before you lose yourself.
  3. What It Means To Be Treated Well: A cultural reference to the
  4. "soft life". If you are miserable or in danger, but stay because you feel like you should be grateful you are provided for. I need you to know that the only true measure that makes any relationship worthwhile is kindness. Your experience of the person should be softer than the things.
  5. Self-Esteem: How high or low your self-esteem is can determine what you tolerate in your relationships. This episode encourages you to work on your self-esteem so the line between "loyalty" and being a doormat is not blurred for you.
  6. People Only Change for Themselves: No one will change FOR YOU because... You're simply not that important. If you look at your personal history, the only times you have made impactful, consistent change in your life was when you took that step by YOURSELF for, YOURSELF. Reflect on this. Don't be a tyrant.
  7. Divine Intervention: Hear me out! What if God is redirecting you towards what is better suited for you? What if the constant roadblocks are a sign to choose a different path. Things that are meant for you are never that difficult. Use this transition period to reconnect with yourself, rediscover your passions, and set new goals for the future.

By prioritizing self-care, seeking support, and embracing the journey of self-discovery, listeners can navigate this transition with grace and resilience.
