In this episode, I had a nice conversation with Erica, who I actually went to high school with. We reconnected in Philly recently and I was stoked to have her on the show to tell her PhD story. It's a long one but definitely some important lessons for anyone who is having a tough time for reasons out of your control. Erica shares some advice about what to do you research on before you join a program, how to handle your advisor leaving before you graduate, and how to keep as many doors open for a career post PhD.
