For those of us who might not be familiar with your media company, The Urban List, can you tell us about it?
Why do you think it’s so important to support local and independent businesses? What drew you to be an advocate for these companies?
Is this an ideology that you think is growing, as younger generations seek not only individualisation, but also an ambition to support businesses that align with their values?
What were some of the biggest challenges you faced, and can you tell us about the most pivotal lessons that you learned along the way?
What was some of the best advice or counselling that helped you to stay focussed and not give up?
Do you feel a responsibility to share with others what it is really like to start and run a company?
What are some of the rewards you have experienced having established a successful company?
What is next for you and The Urban List? What are you hoping to accomplish in 2022?
What advice do you have for the young women of BGGS who are contemplating their place in the world? Perhaps, most especially those who might feel nervous about the idea of starting something themselves?

How many of us have seen an opening in the market, had an idea for a new product, or identified a sector that was struggling, and thought, I know what might help to solve this issue? Now think about how many of us have followed through on this idea—taken the plunge and pursued a dream, or passion—only for it to fail, or flourish?

Welcome to the second episode of Illumine—Grammar Women,  a podcast that highlights the fascinating stories and achievements of Brisbane Girls Grammar School alumnae. Hosted by Principal, Ms Jacinda Euler, this episode features alumnae, Susannah George, who went on to found one of the largest independent media companies in Australia and New Zealand—The Urban List.
