I never expected a small digital avatar to change the way I make a podcast.
Because of chronic pain, nerve issues, past spinal surgeries, and the physical strain of sitting upright on camera, recording could leave me too exhausted to enjoy the editing or creative work afterward.
Becoming a PNGTuber changed that.
In this episode of Idiot Mystic, I talk about how using a simple hooded avatar helped me relax, record in positions that were safer for my body, stop worrying about how pain looked on camera, and put more energy into the actual conversation.
The avatar did not make the work less authentic. It made me more comfortable, more present, and more willing to speak freely.
Sometimes accessibility does more than remove a limitation. It creates a completely new style.
