Labuan is an international business and financial center (IBFC) and oil and gas service hub .  Since 2014, Labuan economy has taken a hit due to the oil crises and caused an economic downturn on the island. 

Still trying to recover from the fiasco, the Covid 19 pandemic further hamper the road to recovery as businesses was force to shut down.
