Xavier Davis, a 32-year-old man from Texas, has pleaded guilty to capital murder for the June 30, 2021, killings of a Houston couple, Gregory Carhee and Donyavia Lagway, along with their 6-year-old daughter, Harmony. Davis broke into the family's apartment and shot the parents in front of their children, fatally injuring Harmony, while her 10-year-old sister pretended to be dead to survive. Davis was arrested shortly after the incident on charges of capital murder and aggravated assault. A second suspect, Alexus Williamson, who allegedly ordered the attacks, has been arrested and is scheduled for trial later this year. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Davis as his case moves into the punishment phase.
