Emotions are hard to talk about. They’re hard to define. They’re hard to feel. They’re hard to manage.

Learning the neuropsychology behind emotional intelligence provides a framework to help us with all of that. It gives us the ability to better interpret our emotions as data that can help us think more clearly.

And when we better understand our emotions, it strengthens our roots so that we’ll become more resilient and adaptable with change.

-------------------------------------

In this episode, we talk about how:

  • Mieka's studies in political science, social impact, body trauma and neuroscience got her here
  • We are expected to be emotionally competent but weren't taught the skills
  • Our emotions serve as an antenna to provide us with more information for decision-making
  • Social and emotional capacity is the missing ingredient at both the societal and human level
  • Emotional resiliency is built by addressing the core needs
