Before God clothes,… He calls. Much like a baby, that after they are born, he or she is placed in swaddling clothes. The 28th chapter of Exodus doesn’t begin with required garments. It begins with a summons. “Take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother… that he may minister unto Me.” Aaron didn’t campaign for it. He didn’t earn it. He was called. And with that calling came consecration. Set apart. Separated. Marked for holy purpose. Before the ephod… Before the breastplate… Before the gold and the beauty… There was surrender. Because you cannot wear what is holy while living what is common. God called Aaron out from among the people to stand before Him. And the question for us is simple: Has God called you — but you’ve resisted consecration? This week, we open Exodus
