Weā€™ve all seen the ā€œtypicalā€ wedding video. The couple loves it, but does it TRULY inspire you as a film maker? Do you feel like you created something that nobody else on the planet could have created? We all get in a rut of just pumping out edits, and getting into a routine with the way we do things. Letā€™s queue up our conversation with Josh Helton, of A Little Long Distance. If you havenā€™t seen their work, they take it to an entirely different level. The edits arenā€™t perfect, rather they are more raw. They include moments from times that arenā€™t just the wedding day. Josh and his wife Jess now live in Ft. Collins Colorado, but just moved from the Nashville area. Their entire vibe is oozing with personality, and it is just so relatable, that they are charging nearly $10,000 for some of their films. He isnā€™t doing flashy gimbal shots, or crazy camera tricks. At the core, it is just really good content. It is hard to explain what he is doing, and we think that is why so many of us are looking to their films to inspire us with our own. But he takes his films to such a personal level that they sometimes are almost painful to watch. Because it is just that intimate. Donā€™t take our word for it, check his website out here: http://bit.ly/2Z4rjMP The point of todayā€™s episode isnā€™t to get you to shoot like Josh, rather to shoot like YOU. What does that look like? We donā€™t expect you to know it the first time you shoot a wedding. But we want you to challenge yourself to push to another level with your couples. To push to another level with your edits. Get out of your own box, and think to yourself ā€œwhat would I make if I had no boundaries.ā€ Work on that. We hope you enjoy todayā€™s episode as much as we recording it! Also, a huge thank you to our amazing community.
