There are so many wonderful people who will make your life better inside and outside of work. All of the tools we need for success are within reach thanks to Pete Mockaitis and I'm very appreciative. Had to stop listening halfway through due to the sheer unadulterated sexism in the examples. Come on, it’s 2023 not 1950.

Y’know that “informercial” type voice? That overly excited, glossy, super effusive sound? It bugs me, which didn’t bode well for me enjoying this podcast. The advice is most applicable to pasty white, white collar people like me which is also a red flag. I don’t hear humanity, empathy, authenticity or inclusiveness.

Pete and the producers of this podcast impress me with their choice of guests and the topics they cover. I get inspired, educated and validated - all from this podcast. I have used the podcast to get pointers to prep for job interview, to learn about time management, to know that there are others who struggle with the same insecurities and confidence hurdles, and to be ok with taking a break to shake out the cobwebs to help you be more productive. I totally recommend HTBAAYJ! ❤️

Great content but the episodes are too short. I feel like I am just getting to the good stuff and the episode is wrapping up. Would love more 50-70 minute in depth discussions.

Maybe less advertising would be better for your listeners? I couldn't listen to the latest episodes because of the increase in things she is selling now. Probably not, because it's all about money and less about the content at this point.

How to be awesome at your job does a great job of telling you what you need to know. The variety of topics is wide enough that there is always something interesting to learn and think about. It’s a great way to stay fresh and on your game.

In my full time profession, I offer career and business development coaching to lawyers. Any time I present to a group or work with someone 1:1, I ALWAYS recommend they listen to this podcast on a regular basis. I go back and listen to pertinent episodes on a regular basis. Every episode may not be for you, but they are so frequent with exceptional variety, there is something for everyone!

Content is good but wish the host had better public speaking skills. If I hear one more “you know” , “kinda”, “sorta” I will scream. Also, we want to hear from the guest not about you! I felt there were many episodes when the host started in on his story and the guest just had to sit in silence.

For anyone trying to be a better leader or take their first steps into leadership or who just wants to be more productive, this is the podcast for you. The host gets right into the meat of the topic, and his interview style keeps the conversation on track. He is very good at making sure there are actionable takeaways and he vets the speakers so there is usually some data behind their topics. I usually listen on the way to work, and it helps me to set up my mindset for the day. This podcast has really made a big difference in my career, my day to day, and sometimes it just makes me sound smarter. I list to every episode, and sometimes I go back to older ones when life throws me new challenges. Episodes are evergreen. Give it a shot. You won’t regret it.

I listen to about one episode per week and I love the variety of topics. All of the conversations make me think and I appreciate the structure that the host uses to open and close the conversations. I am not a fan of sponsors/advertisements, but I appreciate the consistency in quality conversations.

It’s through listening to other podcasts, that I’ve come to understand why this one rocks so much. Most podcasters are interested in hearing themselves talk. They aren’t synthesizing the information for their audience and using that to turn it around to ask a relevant (and clearly researched) question. That isn’t the case here. I’m not exactly a careerist and yet I get so much value from this podcast because it clearly comes from a love of knowledge, love of guests and love of audience. My best media discovery of 2020.

I started listening to this podcast recently and I should say that it covers every aspect of career growth. I was exploring. Should have know from the use of the word “awesome” that it would be annoying Valley Girl drivel. Yes, you will hear the words “awesome” and “perfect” much more if you listen. And lots of catchy acronyms. But not much substance.

As I prep for my interview with Joe Sanok on his Practice of the Practice podcast, it was wonderful to hear Joe being interviewed by, Pete! 461 felt like a 40 minute ad for various things like brainfm and nootropics.

I love the content of the podcast, but the content comes out too frequently. I cannot keep up. It feels weird to say, “too much of a good thing,” but it’s true. Podcasts are not life for me, they are snippets of goodness to learn new stuff in idle moments. I implement new skills and read new authors all the time from the podcast. Keep it coming!!!

I have listened to hundreds of hours of content on my 2.5-hour per day commute. Audible books, music, entertainment, politics, career podcasts, and more - I consider myself an authority on quality content. And THIS? This is the best I've encountered. My one complaint is that I only recently found HTBA - because in the past week or so since I found you, Pete, you have changed my life. Seriously. I am so profoundly glad this podcast exists. Talk about uplifting and practical advice! I have binged listened to about 20 episodes in 7 days - and I honestly wish I had more time to listen. I am so impressed with your positive vibe and contagious energy - not to mention the immediately applicable advice, tools, and tips. And then the way you package it all in each podcast summary is just brilliant. I'm in love. Thank you for this wonderful resource.
