<p>Whether or not we choose to homeschool during the holidays, one of the things that we really enjoy is when we participate in community activities. We have participated in various holiday events such as costume parties, tree lighting ceremonies, theater, golf cart parades, and theme park festivities. Even during this pandemic, there are a plethora of events going on in your community. Just keep in mind that choosing what's interesting to your family is one of the benefits of homeschooling.</p>

037: The Holidays: Good Time to Relax at Home and Avoid Crowds

Hi!  I'm so glad you decided to stop by!
Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to become a teacher.  And I did! Many years later, I got several degrees under my belt and became a college professor.  I loved it, but I love my twin daughters even more! As an older mom, had my kids at 40, I felt time with my girls would run out too soon.  In a blink of an eye, they would be off to college, married, with kids, and so much more. I wanted to treasure my time with them.
So when I had the opportunity to take early retirement, I took it!  Not that I'm "really" retired. I help my husband with his online business, and as of four years ago, I homeschool my twin daughters.  Then two years ago, my niece and my nephew came to live with us full time! Wow! I went from homeschooling one grade to homeschooling three!!!  Yikes!

As Calvin Coolidge put it, "Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."  So with a little structure and a lot of flexibility, we meet our challenges and celebrate our success!
