¿Les estamos enseñando a que los cuiden?🇺🇸Do not despise the privileges that God gave you.1 Kings 14:1‭-‬9:At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam became sick. And Jeroboam said to his wife, “Please arise, and disguise yourself, that they may not recognize you as the wife of Jeroboam, and go to Shiloh. Indeed, Ahijah the prophet is there, who told me that I would be king over this people. Also take with you ten loaves, some cakes, and a jar of honey, and go to him; he will tell you what will become of the child.” And Jeroboam’s wife did so; she arose and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. But Ahijah could not see, for his eyes were glazed by reason of his age. Now the Lord had said to Ahijah, “Here is the wife of Jeroboam, coming to ask you something about her son, for he is sick. Thus and thus you shall say to her; for it will be, when she comes in, that she will pretend to be another woman.” And so it was, when Ahijah heard the sound of her footsteps as she came through the door, he said, “Come in, wife of Jeroboam. Why do you pretend to be another person? For I have been sent to you with bad news. Go, tell Jeroboam, ‘Thus says the Lord God of Israel: “Because I exalted you from among the people, and made you ruler over My people Israel, and tore the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it to you; and yet you have not been as My servant David, who kept My commandments and who followed Me with all his heart, to do only what was right in My eyes; but you have done more evil than all who were before you, for you have gone and made for yourself other gods and molded images to provoke Me to anger, and have cast Me behind your back—---------------------------------In this chapter we see the judgment that God sent on Jeroboam the king of Israel. He was chosen by God to rule over the tribes of God's people and was entrusted with this task concisely and clearly. God told him that if he ruled justly and under the commandments of the Lord, God would bless him and his kingdom would be stable and strong.Unfortunately, Jeroboam was filled with thoughts of insecurities, arrogance and self-confidence, which led him to make the wrong decisions. He led the people to idolatry, he allowed the people to unbridled and practice his belief that was contrary to the Word of God. He formed his own religion with immoral and heretical practices. Wickedness reached the heart of all the tribes of Israel and in a short time morality degraded to an extremely low point; much worse than in the time of Solomon.Jeroboam thought that all these years of bad decisions, ignoring God's Word and going against God's truth was not going to bring him any consequences. He thought it was easy to ignore God's call and abuse God's mercy. That's why when his son got sick, he sent his wife to consult the prophet of God but doing it in disguise. Something similar to what Saul did when he went to see the sorceress. This is how those who are hiding something and don't want to be surprised act. Jeroboam knew that he had been doing wrong, but when he needed the help of God's prophet he did not want to be recognized.God told the prophet who will come to meet him and consult him, and at that very moment that he saw her, he revealed her identity and gave her God's message. Their son was going to die as part of the consequences of Jeroboam's contempt for God who gave him such great privileges. Let us remember that he was not of the lineage of Saul or David, he had no royal blood. He was chosen and directly anointed by a prophet to do God's will, as a consequence to Solomon's disobedience. Even so, he did not appreciate this call from God to restore the spiritual life of God's people, but rather he corrupted them.I hope that today we can evaluate what we are doing with our gifts, with the privilege of being called children of God. Let us remember that we are kings and priests for God! We are a chosen lineage, we are the people of God! Called to impact the generation where we live. Trained to carry the greatest power to transform lives. But let us be careful not to diminish or sadden the gift of God's Spirit in us.Ephesians 4:30 says: “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”And finally, let's not wait until it's too late, let's learn from the story of Esau who could never recover the gift of being the firstborn and be a creditor of his father's inheritance.Hebrews 12:16-17 says: “... lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears.”Are we taking care of what God has given us? Are we making our family members aware of the spiritual privileges we have in God? Are we teaching them to care for them?#EduardoRodriguezR #HogaresDePactoDevocional Hosted on Acast.
