In 1 Peter 
One of the things that Jesus came to free us from is hopelessness.
Are you in despair today?  Well, God has plans for you, and He wants to give you a future and a hope.

Peter instructed the early church to always be ready to give an account for the hope that was within them.  The hope that was within them is the same hope that resides in the heart of every believer today.  It comes when we repent of our sins and receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.  At that moment we are moved from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Light. Futility, hopelessness, death and despair are replaced with faith, hope and love.
