Tonight's episode is titled: "Baroque to Blues!" Classical pieces open the evening and slowly transition into more modern pieces, played by flute-led ensemble. Laurel Ann Maurer once had a teacher who tried to dissuade her from playing the flute, arguing that her chances of success were much higher if she went with a less common instrument. It's a good thing she didn't listen because today she’s a Grammy-nominated artist who's performed at the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and toured throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. Laurel is joined by pianist Pamela Palmer Jones, bassist Dennis Angulo, and cellist Richard.
