His father’s family in West Bengal were immersed in the Advaita Vedanta tradition as members of the Ramakrishna Mission, so there was always some knowledge of this so-called “perennial” understanding running through his life. It was in his mid-thirties that he properly reconnected with what he considers the truths at the heart of that lineage. He has worked for many years with therapeutic and spiritual traditions, including Zen-informed Jungian analysis, somatic healing work, and shamanic healing and ceremony.In 2022 he had an experience in which his sense of separation seemingly vanished for a couple of weeks.
