As the backbone of the healthcare system, nurses face increasingly complex patient care, shorter lengths of stay, higher acuity levels and the almost constant evolution of technology. At Ohio State, the Clinical Ladder program recognizes and rewards staff nurses for their clinical expertise in delivering direct care to patients. In applying to this program, nurses have the opportunity to demonstrate their expertise in areas of clinical management, educational activities and research.
