Dr. Kelsey Fierke - Chiropractic - Episode 120
Dr. Kelsey Fierke graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree. She then moved to Marietta, Georgia to attain her Doctor of Chiropractic at Life University. Chiropractic has been ever present in Dr. K’s life since her dad has been under care for more than 30 years! Her personal experience started at age 13 when she started having low back pain while playing sports. Her chiropractor explained how kids should never be in pain. With regular care, the pain went away; but it was curiosity- wanting to know why that pain went away- that drove Dr. K to continue the path of chiropractic. Dr. Kelsey has been in practice since March 2020 and is focused on providing neurologically based chiropractic care to people of all ages. She has been blessed to take care of new babies as young as a few days old! She has also become a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, and earned the Webster Technique Certification. She continues to study the best ways to help babies function during their most important developmental years. She also has a passion for helping women understand hormonal health and different ways to optimize it. Outside of the office, you can find Dr. Kelsey in the gym throwing around some heavy weights, walking her dogs, or at church with her boyfriend Greg. Day trips to Charleston are her favorite weekend activity, and she looks forward to sharing her famous cookies (a recipe that belonged to her great-great grandma!) with everyone at Columbia Family Chiropractic!

Avodah Massage - Shannon Livezey - Episode 114
https://www.avodahmassage.com/ Hello there! I am Shannon Livezey, owner and founder of Avodah Massage Therapy here in Columbia SC. I started my massage journey back in 2017 when I was pregnant with my firstborn and in so much pain and discomfort that my husband graciously gifted me a massage membership at a franchise to help ease my discomfort. After my son's birth I continued to go regularly and one afternoon after a massage session an idea popped into my head 'what if I used massage therapy to help heal people's trauma through touch?' I quickly waved that notion away as a nice thought but not one I should pursue as I was sure God's path for me was early childhood policy and advocacy. And he laughed. Soon after our family moved to South Carolina and we were expecting our second son I found doors slamming in my face for every job I wanted. Desperate and stuck in a job I hated, the opportunity to attend school for Massage Therapy presented itself. This time I took the leap and signed up all with the goal of opening my own practice one day and helping transform trauma therapy. Fast forward to the end of 2020 I graduated and quickly went to work for a massage franchise. While I loved using my gifts of intentional touch there, it felt too constraining and I yearned to have a practice where I could spend the time I wanted to with my clients and give them the time they deserve. Near the end of 2022 I met a client who ended up being my friend and business associate Georgia of Peche Skin Co. She was able to provide me with the space and help to open up Avodah Massage Therapy, my dream practice, in April of 2023. Now it is my goal through this business to create a compassionate, loving, and safe space for all of my clients as we walk through the path of healing and wellness together through massage therapy. Thank you for checking out my little space on the internet and I look forward to meeting you on the table!
