Split into two states, Florida and Mississippi, we inadvertently bookended 2019 at the two different sections of Gulf Islands National Seashore, the largest seashore in the National Park Service. We started 2019 in the Florida panhandle, getting beachy and nerding out over pelicans, and ended the year in Mississippi, learning island lore and trekking through bayous.
