White phosphorus can melt through steel - you can only imagine the horrifically devastating impacts it has on the environment and its human victims. Though we may not be surprised at the long list of war crimes at the hands of Azerbaijani government, what is surprising is that despite the desolating power of white phosphorus, its use in war is not yet clearly recognized under international law.
