Today I speak with Carey Gillam, who is an American investigative journalist and author with more than 30 years of experience covering food and agricultural policies and practices. Gilliam has won several industry and literary awards for her work, her first book “Whitewash- The Story of a Weed Killer, Cancer and the Corruption of Science” is largely what we speak about today, while also touching on the current legal battles which are brought into much more detail in her next book "The Monsanto Papers" releasing March 2nd. Gillam has been asked to speak all over the world about food and agricultural matters, including before the European Parliament in Brussels, the World Forum for Democracy in Strasbourg, and much more. I hope this conversation sheds some light on the current agricultural system and how to make better decisions as it pertains to what we eat, and who we support.
