Today at Harsh Language, in celebration of Halloween, we have our review of the genre-defining John Carpenter's Halloween from 1978.  Halloween is a widely influential film within the horror genre; it was largely responsible for the popularization of slasher films in the 1980s and helped develop the slasher genre.  it was written and directed by John Carpenter, co-written by Debra Hill, and stars Donald Pleasence, Jamie Lee Curtis, Nancy Kyes, and P.J. Soles.
