When a young man decides that it is a great idea to venture into stand up comedy, why would he do that and how could it possibly turn out? If you're curious what it takes to stand up in front of an audience and do a comedic routine, then this is a podcast for you. This episode is an interview with Daniel Harsch, also known as dan_and_dirty on Instagram. It may be a little strange interviewing your own son about his comedic ventures as well. But it's all in good fun and both Daniel and I hope you enjoy the interview.

In this bonus bridging episode... For my wife and I, recovery from the not so deadly virus was a little longer than other known viruses, but it wasn't the end of the world. The phrase batcrap crazy has come up in thinking about the government reaction to all of this sideshow going on with all of the ever changing rules. Does it feel to you like they are waiting to pounce with new restrictions and mandates? There is a lot to talk about in this world as it takes on a new order and cadence. The most important thing is to talk about freedom, and how that cannot exist without truth. Stick with it and we will get from where we are to where we are going.

This episode is a shorter chat about the Canadian cultural/political moment we are experiencing right now with the Freedom Convoy 2022. If you aren't talking about it, you may not be Canadian. Although the topic itself is provocative, I of course ask some provocative questions and welcome anyone responding to them or having something to say back.

Context for the first episode, this part of the story is what came before. That which set me up to choose as I did. It scratches the surface of the much larger conversation around civic duty, civil disobedience and justification for it. 2022 is the year to attempt at building bridges with those on the other side of the chasm, those who do not share my views. It doesn't mean that I will be able to alter the foundations from where I start or remove the chasm, but at least we are able to cross over it on a bridge and get a good view of the landscape there to understand it better. There are passions on both sides and I'm sure that I will encounter barriers to building bridges, but I believe we need to at least attempt to stitch our society back together. It is my firm belief that our starting point is the truth. And we seek it and speak it further from there. Join me in putting away the lie. Join me in attempting to build bridges, not by compromising your views or beliefs, but by openly sharing them and finding a way to appreciate others.
As I grow into the space, I'm experimenting with new podcast layouts and sound editing, so please bear with me. I cherish your feedback.

Laying it all out there, I'm going to open the door to difficult conversation. I'm going to start with my story. I'm going to see if there is anyone out there who not only will listen to who and what it is that I am all about, but will reach out and talk to me about some difficult things. Community and relationship isn't easy. And it has been made more difficult by the things we have been facing since March 2020. But I for one believe it is worth it. I still want to relate to, and connect with, and do my part with assisting my fellow citizens, my neighbors, my friends, and my family.
I would also very much covet interviews, and conversations, and connections on the podcast with anyone who would be open to it. Anyone who would be daring and brave. Anyone who would want to relate to a different way of seeing things, of thinking of things, of speaking of things. If there is one thing that you can be assured I'm not afraid of, that's interacting with those who don't see things the way I do. I'm hoping to find those that think the same way.

Building bridges and connections is difficult when we face Harsch Realities everyday. We face so much stuff on our own, but when we try to stitch together a community when everyone faces the hard stuff of life, it becomes even more difficult. How can we relate when it seems like community is so fractured and lost? Where do we start when we dropped out on the way things were? It may take a lot of work, but building back relationships for the sake of friends, family and community is in my estimation a project worth undertaking. Lets work on this together here in the Harsch Realities podcast.
