Tyla Savard, outspoken and fierce advoke in Alberta and who now serves as Program Manager for the Stronger Together Canada peer-support group through Mom's Stop the Harm, among several other equally important roles, is no stranger to the difficulties parents and loved ones are faced with when a child and family are struggling with substance use harms.
"My oldest daughter gave us a crash course in Fentanyl" and when dealing with closed-minded practitioners she's not one to hesitate in pointing out that "my stretch marks will always outweigh anything you read in a textbook" as it pertains to her daughter's path.
Tyla is passionate about spreading awareness and coming together to affect the change we want and need in our communities. "When we're taking care of ourselves, it helps us to embrace what's coming our way and be able to respond not react to it and in so doing, we can become leaders in our community - so let's have some real conversations and make some real changes".
