They send books free of charge to prisoners incarcerated in both Ohio and West Virginia. They also have an extensive catalog of zines (pamphlets on various subjects) that prisoners can also request.Jason Orabella is an Ohio State University alumni who has been volunteering with Redbird for over a decade now. Outside of his passion for prison activism, Jason enjoys gardening, hiking and identifying wildlife native to Ohio.Josephine (JD) Duffy is a student at the Ohio State University pursuing a Masters in environmental science. She began volunteering with prison book programs during her time as an undergraduate at the University of Illinois, where she spent 3 years working with Books-to-Prisoners Urbana-Champaign to provide free books to incarcerated readers throughout Illinois.
