One of the most important morals to understand in the Old Testament is the Law of the Goel. This law is crucial to Jesus Christ's claim on us and our legal claim on Him. Because Jesus is our Goel, we in turn are able to become saviours on Mount Zion, or goels (small g) to others. This is one of the greatest acts of God's love. It is proof that He loves us.
