THE BLESSING: Genesis “From the dew of heaven and the richness of the earth, may God always give you abundant harvests of grain and bountiful new wine. All who curse you will be cursed, and all who bless you will be blessed.” WHAT WE THINK TRUE BLESSING ARE: • Abundance and Possession. • Praise and worship of humans. • Significance in immediate community. • Winning battles over your enemy. Luke “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. [10] For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. [11] “You fathers—if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? [12] Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! [13] So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.” WHAT THE TRUE BLESSING MEAN: The Holy Spirit The kingdom of God became the goal when this earth we seeing will be one day fold as a carpet. 2 Corinthians While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life. [5] God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit.
