What happened to the prophetic movement—and what will it take to rebuild it? Ken Fish and Joel Taylor sit down with John E. Thomas, leader of Streams Ministries International (founded by the late John Paul Jackson) and a speaker at the upcoming Luminosity conference (Nashville, Oct 1–3, 2026). Register: https://kingdomluminosity.org/
John argues that the implosion of the prophetic over recent years is both the inevitable fruit of what was sown and the judgment of God—a purging meant to clear away defilement so a healthier generation can arise. He traces the warning signs back to the 1990s: creeping Gnosticism and universalism, divination dressed up as revelation, the loss of the fear of the Lord, and the teaching that imagination is revelation and discernment is unnecessary.
The conversation keeps returning to the conference theme—consecration and holiness—and why a clean "lens" is essential to perceiving what God is actually saying.
In this conversation:
Why the collapse of the prophetic was both consequence and divine judgment
Why true prophetic ministry includes justice and judgment, not only comfort
"Imagination is revelation" and other dangerous errors
Emotional atmosphere vs. the genuine presence of God
How the medium we learn through shapes the way we think
Why intercession is core to the prophetic
The sons of Zadok—and treating the holy as holy
Why holiness keeps the lens of the soul clean
