GI is well known as one of the DJs at the forefront of pushing the new wave of music, particularly from Kenya and Africa.  He blends urban Kenyan sounds like Shrap and Gengetone with African and global sounds like Hip-Hop, RnB, Afrobeats and Dancehall at his live gigs and online platforms.  His fun-loving and positive energy manifests in his sets and you can feel how much he loves and enjoys every single song he plays. 

GI Selects was the winner of the 2019 Cafe Ngomma Award for Best Alternative DJ and a nominee for Best DJ at the  2020 Unkut Hiphop Awards. He has headlined some of Kenya’s major events and festivals like For the Culture (2019) and Kilifi New Year’s Eve 2020. He is also Barak Jacuzzi’s official DJ.
