.00shannondrummondHi friend. Are you a teacher on the brink of burnout? Tired of doing all the things with little to no respect or recognition (not to mention the lack of pay or all the hours you put in)? Are you leaving work exhausted... having expended all of your mental and emotional energy on other people's children and by the time you get home, you have very little to offer your own families?Listen I know your pain I've been there and these are just a few of the frustrations you may be feeling right now. Well, If you're looking for a way out of the classroom but don't know where to start. That's exactly what this podcast is all about. My name is Shannon Drummond and I'm a former elementary teacher turned full time entrepreneur (well transitioning to such). I created get out of the teachers lounge to be a resource for you, as you take the next step in your journey. It's a place for you to be encouraged by others who have found passion and purpose outside of the 4 walls of the classroom. Some found that passion in education while others like me have found their purpose outside of the education field altogether. The hope is that through this podcast you will be inspired and encouraged to pursue the life  that you desire whether that looks like remaining in a school setting, securing a different type of position in education, maybe transferring your skills to a corporate job, or turning your side hustle into a full time career.01:32.90shannondrummondThe bottom line is this. At the end of the day, if you no longer find joy in teaching and are being called to something else, I want to help you. Help you do what? Get out of the teacher's lounge. If you want to support my efforts to help teachers like you, like, follow, and share this podcast with as many people as you can! Also, follow on IG at GetOutoftheTeachersLounge (It wouldn't let me add the apostrophe, and you know that kills me as a teacher, but it is what it is)!
