You see Judah depart with his staff and seal. This has an amazing resemblance to what happened around 7 AD in Jerusalem. The Sanhedrin wept in the streets and cried out, "The Scepter has departed from Judah, but Shiloh has not come".They cried this out because there was an ancient prophecy in Genesis 49, where Jacob tells the fate of each of his son's lineage, their tribes. In this, he prophesied that the Scepter and the Staff shall not depart from Judah until Shiloh (Messiah) comes.In 7 AD, the Romans took away the Judicial power of Judah, from the Sanhedrin and this was the first time that Israel could no longer rule over their own people in Judicial matters.
