Laodicea is trying to be the bride of the Anti-Christ and Jesus Christ. This does not work and Jesus tells them that he would rather they were one or the other, but not both.
Jesus rejects this church and tells then to repent, so that they may be saved. You will also learn about the connection between the name Laodicea and Laodice.
This city was named after Laodice IV, and she was the bride of Antiochus IV Epiphanes, who was a big picture and type of the future Anti-Christ.
