Dr. Rachel Wu is a developmental cognitive neuroscientist investigating attending to and learning relevant information across

the lifespan. Her EEG and behavioral research from infancy to aging adulthood investigates how learner factors, (e.g., prior knowledge, learning approach) and environmental factors (e.g., scaffolding) facilitate the selection of relevant information to promote new learning in some contexts, while being detrimental to new learning in other  contexts. Cross-pollinating child development and aging research has the potential to promote cognitive growth across the lifespan.
