Earthquakes, typhoons, heat and droughts and many other extreme situations and natural disasters come to mind when we think of the effects of climate change. In this episode, Annika talks to Kathlyn Kissy Sumaylo-Pearlman from the Phillipines. Kissy is an international resilience specialist with at least 15 years of experience in disaster risk reduction and has worked with several UN and national government institutions in South and Southeast Asia. She explains (again) why gender should be more than just a box to tick and gives insights into the Philippine way of disaster risk management (DRM).
